About
Experienced geophysical and geological interpretation and analysis, independently delivered
Halvor Tellefsen is a Senior Geophysicist and Principal Exploration
Geoscientist with more than 16 years of experience and an MSc in
Petroleum Geophysics. He works across exploration, appraisal and development
geophysics — a dedicated prospect hunter who has been a key contributor to
multiple APA licensing-round applications and to four discoveries.
He is recognised as a Petrel expert and advanced geophysical
interpreter, with deep experience in seismic interpretation and mapping, AVO
and wedge modelling, seismic-to-well ties, EEI analysis and EEI cube workflows,
prospect evaluation and well planning support. He has also developed and
delivered in-house Petrel courses, helping colleagues adopt efficient
interpretation workflows and consistent technical best practice.
As an injectite specialist with focused experience on the
UKCS and NCS, he combines structural and stratigraphic interpretation,
prospect maturation, subsurface uncertainty assessment and development
geophysics — integrating seismic, geological, well, petrophysical and
reservoir information into clear, decision-ready subsurface understanding.
His project experience extends internationally — he has worked
on exploration, appraisal and development projects across the NCS and
UKCS, the South Atlantic and the Middle East.
He is a strong team performer, a trusted collaborator and a genuine
technical enthusiast with a committed, dependable attitude. He works
through HT Exploration AS, his own independent geoscience
consultancy. His current main assignment is Senior Expert Geophysics
on OMV's Berling Development, delivered as a consultant through
AGR / HT Exploration AS.
